Long Time No See. But Look! 3D!

Hello there friends! Oh how I have missed you!

I did not intend to step away from photography for so long. But given the nature of my work, my photography business was incredibly affected by the pandemic. Since I was unable to work with people, I took time to reflect as many did. I took time to explore new avenues. I started with the iPad and an apple pen and really dove in to the entire Adobe catalogue. My children got involved and it wasn’t long before we created a fun virtual world. It was a beautiful creative outlet at a time when things felt bleak.
We soon learned all about blockchain technology and we decided to try out a generative project where we took 12 different layers of traits and made 3,333 different unique combinations. It was a lot of fun! In fact, we’re still building wonderful things using these dolls that we created. I’m sure one day in the future you’ll get an update about them.

But that somehow lead me to a path of 3D art. I learned how to use a program called Blender and before I knew it I was creating 3D animations. Naturally, this animated doughnut was the very first thing I created! It look me 30 hours! I ate so many doughnuts that week! But I learned so much and I was hooked!

Since then I have been creating delicious renderings that make me so hungry! Making treats is so fun!

But at that time, I was unaware of the doors I was opening. Wow did I end up on a path I never expected. I was now working in the very fast paced Web3 space. It was quite the learning curve. But my goodness was it fun!

Being a creative director at a Web3 agency is so fun. I’m still a little shocked by this experience because it all happened so fast and some of the people and projects I get to work with are pretty incredible.

It took some time for me to balance out my life. And now that things are feeling more balanced, I am so incredibly grateful to be able to pick up my camera again and do the thing that I was truly born to do! Which is…

Documenting life’s most precious moments!

Toronto's Never-Ending Autumn Colours

I have travelled to many parts of the world and never have I ever seen an autumn quite like Southern Ontario’s! The bold vibrant diverse colours creates a rainbow landscape that you can’t help but gawk over. It is such a picturesque scene, I will never get bored of the site.

Come follow this cute couple as we hike through the colourful forest during sunset while I document their super sweet love for one another and their growing baby!

Catwoman + Mustard (and Ketchup and Fries).

Most years my kids have done a joint costume and I create a pretty epic picture for them. But this year they decided to do their own thing. My youngest and her best buds thought it would be hilarious to go together as mustard, ketchup, and french fries. And they were right! So we headed to our favourite local burger joint, The Tuck Shop for their adorable Halloween picture!

Meanwhile my oldest wanted to go as a ninja or something similar. After a lot of back and forth, she landed on Catwoman! We have a pretty awesome view of the city from our balcony which made the perfect scene for her picture.

On Halloween night just as the sun was setting Catwoman and Mustard headed out in search of Mustard’s missing pieces (and to collect candy of course). They knocked on doors as they headed down the street.

It wasn’t long before they ran in to Hotdog!! That was a very exciting moment for Mustard…and Hotdog! They asked if they had seen Ketchup and Fries, but they had only seen Spicy Mustard and Burger (who was sitting on the porch).

After saying goodbye to Hotdog, Catwoman heard her friends calling. She wished Mustard goodluck as she slipped in to the night off on a new mission to collect as much candy as possible with Cat, Cousin It, Cruella, and Hermes.

As Mustard continued on, it wasn’t long before she saw that big red bottle of Ketchup! Mustard and Ketchup were together again! They skipped down the street feeling almost whole! There was one more missing piece. Fries.

After a whole block, French Fries were nowhere to be found. But they did run in to another Hotdog who said they had not seen Fries but would relay any messages if they ran in to them. After relaying the message, the hunt for Fries continued. This time they had to go through the spookier parts.

After the Candy Take-Out Window they turned the corner, and just around the bend they spotted FRIES!!! Their mission was accomplished. They were reunited and felt complete!

They ate candy while reminiscing about the evening. When it was time to for everyone to pack it in for the night, Mustard called out for Catwoman. Once she arrived they headed home to fall asleep in their pile of candy.

The end.

I was reeeeaaaaally looking forward to this years trick or treating adventure because I jumped on the mirrorless bandwagon and got my hands on the Canon R6!! I also updated my lenses! It has been an absolute dream shooting with this camera. It handles low light much better than I expected.
