Best Time To Book Your Autumn Mini Session

Mini sessions are here! After subscribers took advantage of presales, the remaining spots are open to everyone!

Some people ask, when is the best time to book a session? Well, to help you decide, I’ll first explain some differences. The main difference between a morning and late afternoon photo session lies in the quality and direction of the light.

In the morning, the light is soft, cool, and even, creating a fresh, peaceful atmosphere. The sun is lower in the sky, casting gentle shadows and a natural glow that’s perfect for bright, crisp images. The mornings have a lot less people around, and the kids are usually fully charged! It can be a bit chilly, so you may need some cozy sweaters or stylish jackets, which looks great for a fall session.

Morning Session

In the late afternoon, the light becomes warm and golden, adding a rich, glowing quality to photos. This lighting is more dramatic, creating stunning silhouettes and deep, vibrant colours, especially in autumn when the foliage is in full display. The late afternoon is usually a bit warmer in temperature too.

Afternoon Session

Regardless of when you book your session, each time of day offers a distinct mood, with morning being serene and refreshing, and late afternoon providing warmth and richness. Even on overcast or cloudy days the sun is still there creating a perfect environment for the classic autumn family portrait. And my goodness do I love an overcast day. Either way, no matter the time of day, we are going to create beautiful magical art pieces that will look stunning in a book, on your wall, or even framed on your desk!

(or if you want specific locations or dates, and you want a longer session with more pictures, go for a full lifestyle portrait session).

What To Do With Your Digital Images

So you just got your portraits taken and now you have some high resolution digital files that you don’t really know what to do with. Well, we know for sure that your beautiful images do not belong on your hard drive or on a storage device. They deserve more than a facebook share or IG post. Seriously, you got professional portraits taken, so get them printed! And I am not talking about your local department store photo lab. I am talking about professional prints. The difference in prints are remarkable!

And the best part is, I can do most of the work for you! I can create a mock up of your wall with images in various sizes so you can see what your wall prints will look like before you order, or create the perfect layout for your album so all you have to do is approve it and I’ll do the rest! I will send them to the lab, pick them up and drop them off to you!

The most popular items are the floatmount wall prints! These are very sturdy and incredibly stunning, slightly textured, lightweight, and easy to hang! They are great for large prints along with smaller wall collages! But I must admit, I loooove those big beautiful prints! They leave everyone’s jaw dropped!

Traditional prints through my professional lab are absolutely perfect in colour and quality! They are archival, meaning that they will last! Seriously, place one of these prints on a mantel next to a print from your local department store lab and you’ll see that the department stores print will be discoloured within months, but these are still perfect many many many years later! In all honesty, the department store prints will be discoloured right from the get-go during printing, because they do the same standard colour correction on every image they print which is likely to cause your image to look more green or magenta and overall just off. But after time those colours will fade and wash out, unlike archival prints! So if you’re printing important images for your wall, then I highly recommend professional printing!

Another way to keep and display your images is in The Renzo Album! A beautiful personalized book handmade locally here in Toronto. These books are also archival and make the perfect coffee table item where they can be viewed often. Your album can be 6x6 or up to a 12x12! This video will give you a little book tour!

If you want something smaller and not so grand, you will love the Mini Book! These are adorable 4x6 books that are so well made. Perfect little memories all in a book for your coffee table. Kids LOVE to look through these books over and over again!

However you decide to display your images, I am here to help! I know that it can be challenging trying to decide on sizes and which images look good together and where on your wall they should go. But don’t worry! I got you!
