One of the greatest gifts you can give a parent or a grandparent, is a photoshoot. Portraits really are the gift that keeps on giving because photos are such cherished items that get hung on the wall and placed in photo books for people to look at and reflect back on. So for this Grandma's birthday we hangout for a couple hours and snapped a bunch of pictures around the home and then headed to their local park. It was such a beautiful sunny spring day creating such a pretty scene for us. We got so many sweet pictures!
Adventures of Pegasus and Cat
Happy Halloween everyone!! What a night!! So many children in the streets! It was just so lovely! I love my community so much. Younger kids, older kids, adults!! Everyone was dressed up and there were some real spooky houses out there. Audrey was a little shaken after the first haunted house even though she would insist she was a brave cat, she walked cautiously from that moment on. But Adelaide, she went for it! The first haunted house she was a little freaked and hesitated but when we got to the scariest house she even stood and let me take a picture in front of the clown house.
At every house that called Adelaide a unicorn, she kindly corrected them with "actually I'm a pegasus." But when they got it right, she was so proud of them, ha! And Audrey was extremely thankful for every single treat she got. "LOOK! LOOK what she gave me! Oh thank you thank you!!" she would squeal with delight. She stole a lot of hearts tonight. Here, I'll let the pictures tell the stories...
Impromptu photo booth.
AAAAAND....
WE'RE OFF!!
Meow!
Neigh!
They panicked that the door would close. Don't worry, Julian was holding it open. Clearly this is a fear of theirs. Audrey's face! LOL.
"HALLOWEEN APPLES!!"
Jack-o-lantern
"Tick or treat!"
The entrance to the first haunted house.
We stopped by Adelaide's besties home where Cinderella was handing out candy!
Just the sweetest!
So we stayed for a moment so Adelaide could watch her in action!
When we continued on, we ran in to more friends! Group shot!
The scariest house. Be she's "not scared of anything!"
Except maybe that giant ghost.
Strike a pose!
Last few houses before heading home.
Completely knackered.
Trading treats.
HOME!
I document this holiday every single year. It's my favourite. Please take a look at the previous years that I've shared here on this blog!
Trick or Treat (2014), The adventures of The Crocodile Who Didn't Like Water, and Red Parrot.
Happy Halloween (2013), The adventures of Ming Ming Duck and T-rex.
It makes my heart hurt a little to see how much my children have grown. They really aren't little long enough.
A Spring Day at the Park with Expired 35mm.
I love film. There is nothing like it. It's so exciting all the time. I love the lack of control compared to what we're used to today. There's always a slight uncertainty. Especially when you are using expired film. You also can't just take hundreds of pictures like you can with digital. You really do have to wait for the moment. I LOVE it!
This past weekend, in celebration of the warm Spring weather, our little co-op family went to the park with mason jars of wine and beers to eat Polish sausages. I brought along my Pentax K1000 and 2 rolls of expired 35mm film to photograph our children as they played. The photos are perfect.
If you are interested in a photoshoot shot with 35mm, or 120 film…or BOTH, just contact me!
