The time has come!! The annual autumn mini sessions! Sunday October 24th and Saturday October 30th. Subscribers totally took advantage of their VIP booking this year! So I am very excited to see many familiar faces this season. But as a result to being almost completely sold out, I did what I did last year and added 4 more times to the schedule. I love when the whole family comes together. I love capturing everyone’s personality in these big group pictures. Of course that’s challenging to get in one shot, but we always get it. Sometimes families come to the session just hoping we get that one shot because it usually seems a little chaotic since there’s lots of people. But I embrace the children running around wild and free because I’m the type of photographer who follows the children’s lead. I truly think the most important thing with a session that includes children is keeping them happy. If you don’t make the children’s happiness the priority, it can lead to a domino effect of unhappy people and forced smiles. We don’t ever want that. So, we follow the children’s lead, and sometimes they sit calmly for that picture perfect shot and sometimes they jump around which creates images that are so full of love and life. Realistically, photoshoots are supposed to fun, and not something to dread. I know some photographers won’t even photograph extended families because the fact that they are challenging, but I welcome the whole fam jam, and to make things easy, I now have a package called “The Whole Fam Jam” for these very sessions. So get that family together and lets make magic!
