Sage, 5 Days Old.

Five days after I documented Sage’s birthing day, I arrived at their home for their newborn session. Lifestyle newborn sessions are very sentimental and will definitely give you all the nostalgic feels. Baby’s grow so fast! In fact, your sweet little newborn is only a newborn for a few weeks! Whether it’s your first, second, third or eighth, it’s a very very fast phase that comes during a time of huge transition. It’s easy to miss the moments and sometimes it’s hard to embrace this time when there’s a lot going on and little sleep is had. If you can find a day, one day, just for a couple hours to schedule a newborn session, you will be very grateful you did because in no time at all, you will be looking at these photos wondering where the time went and likely even forgetting about the sleep deprivation and sore leaking breasts leaving room for the wonderful memories like sweet cuddles, tiny toes, and that adorable froggy pose that newborns stay in. The best part about lifestyle newborn sessions is that I come to you! Being in the comfort of your own home during this time makes it easier on everybody, especially mama and baby! And if your first thought was, “oh, but my home is a mess!” Just take comfort in knowing that most people with newborns live in a bit of chaos, of course! And I just need a very little amount of space in which I can easily move things out of my frame if need be. So, mess or no mess, it’s your wonderful life and it’s worth documenting!

Meet Elize, Born At Home

I spent an afternoon doing a Meet the Baby session with this rad family just after Elize was born right here in their home. You may remember a few years back I documented the day Attis was born, so it was really wonderful to see Attis so welcoming to his little sister. He played music for her and read to her. He was also so incredibly loving, mimicking his dad caring for his mama, making sure she was fed and cuddled. Ya know, a lot of people might think having a photographer in your space after having a baby could be too much, but actually, it’s way less stressful and more casual than you think. You just go about your day doing all the things you would normally do and I can be a fly on the wall capturing all the sweet moments and messy moments and funny moments. Basically just capturing your perfectly imperfect real life. And you can even add the Newborn Poses add-on if you also wanted some studio-like newborn pictures, like they did! So scroll down and enjoy the afternoon with Elize and Attis.

Book Your Session

Kyle, One Week Old.

This tiny newborn totally gave me baby fever. When you scroll though these pictures you'll see why! He was completely chill throughout his session. He was cozy, fed, burped, and sleepy making the perfect recipe for newborn poses. You've probably noticed that I keep my newborn posing to simple natural positions. I keep the props to a minimal too. I often use items from around the family's home making the images more unique and personal. And a lot of my props that I bring are unique and personal to me. Like the suitcase below. That once belonged to my Grandma. I inherited it when she passed away. It was filled with amazing buttons when I got it! And now it's filled with crocheted newborn hats which are handmade by me! My stuff is always slowly changing as I create new things and find new goodies. But when people add the Newborn Poses add-on, I get a little extra excited.
